Our Journey

Social Circles CIC began by supporting elders and those with health challenges to reclaim their gardens, providing a vital gateway to nature and community services. This foundational work revealed the deep connections between environment, isolation, and wellbeing.

We have since evolved into a community interest company dedicated to improving prosperity, health, and mental wellbeing across rural Somerset, with a focus on the Levels & Moors. Our approach is place-based and community-led, designing projects that grow from local heritage and identity, like the Alfred Pilgrimage and heritage trails.

We actively combat rural isolation through initiatives like our co-created befriending programme and work in partnership with parishes, councils, and charities. Our goal is to build long-term resilience by connecting people, celebrating place, and strengthening the social fabric of Somerset's villages.
